Executed Man

I was present at this execution, it made me rethink my thoughts on the death penalty. A Texas inmate has been executed for the death of a corrections officer during a short-lived escape from prison six years ago.
Jerry Martin had requested that no additional appeals be filed on his behalf, clearing the way for his lethal injection Tuesday evening.
Martin was serving 50 years for attempted capital murder when he and another inmate bolted from a work detail outside a Huntsville-area prison in September 2007.
In the ensuing chaos and gunfire, a 59-year-old prison officer on horseback, Susan Canfield, suffered fatal head injuries. Both Martin and his partner, John Falk, were captured within hours after fleeing in a stolen pickup.
Martin's execution was the 16th and last scheduled for this year in Texas, which carries out capital punishment more than any other state.

Studing History

History is important to learn from our mistakes in the pass. However sometimes we do not choose to learn from them. The Israelites, in the old testement choose not to learn from the past mistakes and from the warnings that God has given to them. The Israelites choose to go against God many times.

The Isralites are thaught throughout history that God will always provide. The Israelites are lazy in their faith, and will defy God. When the Israelites build the false idol of the cow, they go against God and are punished for it. The Isralites went through fazes of loving and going against God, instead of loving him at all times.

Chemical Warfar

Chemical Warfar is a very crual way of waging war. It often kills many civilians, and it causes many mass casualties. Due to the Genevia Convention, chemical Warfar is almost obsolete. However not all people fallow the rules.

Sadam Husain used mustard gas and vx to kill over 10,000 Kurds. This is pure evil and many of these people suffered crual and long deaths. Most recently, the Serian govenement has been accused of using chemicals on its on citizens. Chemicals as a weapon have no place on the battle field.

Prostitution

In this time of selling sex, and viewing sex as not holy, and only in the sacrament of marriage prostitution is not seen as a sin. But, prostitution is wrong and a great sin. It is diminishing a females body. It is also violation of the 6th commandment, though shall not commit adultery. It can also create certain diseases for that woman, and she can transmit that disease to many men.

By prostituting a woman can make it easier for a man to have the ability to sin. Being a prostitue allows you to be around currupt people. You also as a prostitues, can get killed, or have a baby to a man you may never see again. Which in turn the woman may have an abortion, which is seen as much more grave sin.

Do not Tell People About Suicide

Don't text me if your gonna kill yourself. I am tired of it. I am a 16 year old I can hardly take care of myself. What is the good of telling me that you are gonna kill yourself if you will not even listen to me. Tell someone that knows what to do. Not a 16 year old who lives 150 miles away.

If you wanna kill yourself do not tell anyone. If you tell someone, tell someone who can help you or knows what to do. Also, if your gonna tell someone, at least listen to them, or answer their phone call. But most of all do not talk about killing yourself, or even think about it.

More to Life

Many people believe that there is not much to life. They believe that life is bad or not fulfilling. Life is not boring, it just has to be lived. God does not have to be present to live life, but He can surely supply purpose. Just like how you do not have to believe everything in a Theology class to get an A, but if you believe in the subject it surely helps to get the A.

All life has purpose. It just seems like we do not like our purpose sometimes. Some people think they can only be happy if they are driving an expensive car. Happiness is not doing what you want. True happiness is bringing joy to and helping others. You can achieve happiness without achieving true happiness. You can steal $20 from somebody and be happy. True happiness is usually occurred by sacrifice, like when you go to the soup kitchen early in the morning on Saturday. Your all mad cause you had to wake up the same time as you do to go to school, but you help countless people. Just knowing that, the little help you gave, influenced so many people is true happiness.

Suicide Note

If  commiting suicide, it is not ethical to leave a note. Killing yourself is bad enough. If you leave a note, it does nothing for anyone except make it worse. Telling someone why you killed yourself for revenge is not worth it. If your dead why mess with someone else.

Telling someone you are going to yourself is no good either. Because, the person you tell will live with that guilt forever. In conclusion, do not leave a suicide not, and do not tell someone about your suicide.

Suicide

Suicide is a growing fad among teens in high school and middle school. Suicide is the act of taking ones life. Suicide usually occurs because of bulling, or family issues. Lately there have been many more attempts of suicide that have not resulted in suicide. Attempted suicide is not the way to get attention or the help that is needed. There is nothing worth taking ones own life for.

Suicide is morally wrong, because it is the taking of a life. Now there is more preventative measures, to prevent suicide. More and more is being done to bring up suicide awareness. Suicide does not solve anything it just hurts those who love you. Suicide is never an option.

Poaching

Poaching is a crime, that can range from killing a deer out of season, to killing a rare albino rhinoceros. Poaching is immoral, because it goes against the limits of keeping a safe population of a certain animal. Most poaching occurs with the poacher having full knowledge, that what he is doing is wrong. Most poachers go after the skin or horns of a prized animal.

Some poaching even occurs with the intention of just killing a rare animal, just for the fact of killing a rare animal. There is no want of meat, hide, or ivory. This is the most immoral type of poaching. In poorer regions poaching consists of killing a deer out of season for food, or shooting a duck out of season, because the taste is comforting. In conclusion, all poaching is wrong rather it is just to kill a rare animal, or if it is to put meat on you table, but it is not the right season.
Rhino killed solely for its horn.

Children Soldiers

Fighting a was is dangerous even for trained soldiers. Obviously war is no place for children. However, in some third world countries children are used as foot soldiers. The children are not given proper training, and as a result are the first to die. Children also have the highest casualty rate, compared to older and more experienced fighters. The children are forced to fight, and have no choice in the matter.

The children, are not given proper food and clothing. Without proper training, they are easy targets, when they face experienced armies. Most children soldiers do not make it to the age of eighteen. Some of these children voluntarily fight, because if they do not fight for someone, they will get killed anyway. Even in some drastic circumstances, the life of being a child soldier. Is better then the life at home. Being a child soldier is a terrible way to live.

Darfur

"Darfur is a region in Sudan the size of France. It is home to about 6 million people from nearly 100 tribes. Some nomads. Some farmers. All Muslims. In 1989, General Omar Bashir took control of Sudan by military coup, which then allowed The National Islamic Front government to inflame regional tensions. In a struggle for political control of the area, weapons poured into Darfur. Conflicts increased between African farmers and many nomadic Arab tribes (United Human Rights)."

Over 600,000 have been killed since the conflict. Another 2.5 million have been displaced. Over three millions lives have been horriably effected by this genocide. Religion is the last thing that should be causeing people to be acting in such a horid manner.

The Ethics of 'Calligraffiti'

A Dutch man known as the "Shoe", has been grafitting in Amsterdam since 1980. Before then, he would paint obsinities, and innapropriate pictures. At the time he did not believe in a god. Then one day he saw an old manuscript of the Bible.

At that time he decided to grafitti the scripture on the walls instead. He has many supporters, even though it is still against the law. He is trying to find a way to legally, grafitti on the streets. He has now found, while grafitting the Scriptures. Also, he has gotten permision to do his works on many shops. While his work teaches the people the scriptures, grafiting is still illegal.
